Cambridge Station Area
Client: Cambridge City Council
Cambridge City Council commissioned Jack Warshaw to undertake an appraisal of Rogers Stirk Harbour's £750m Masterplan for the CB1 Conservation Area, which includes large scale redevelopment and the demolition of a number of key townscape buildings in the Station Conservation Area. The appraisal assessed whether the alleged benefits of major new buildings and public realm redesign would outweigh the possible drawbacks to the character of the Conservation Area and setting of listed buildings. The resulting study informs the overall evaluation and report to the City Council who have to decide whether to grant outline planning permission.
