Location:  Haslemere, Surrey 

Local Authority resistance to opening up a wall and covering an internal courtyard of the 16th century Grade II listed buildng was overcome by careful research into the history and development of the building. We were able to prove that the remodelling of the 1980s interior would preserve the ancient fabric and benefit the character of the building.  Oak framing compliments the structure of the original house.  Submitted for RIBA Downland Prize award.
