One of the UK’s foremost heritage practitioners with almost 50 years’ experience in public and private sectors. Jack founded CAP in 1991. He trained in art at New York’s famous La Guardia School, Architecture at Miami University, Ohio, Planning at University of Westminster and Building Conservation at the Architectural Association, London. He’s received European Architectural Heritage and other awards, appeared on television and radio, and contributed to many journals. Extensive work record: Town Centre Plans, Conservation Plans, building/area appraisals, public realm, World Heritage sites, Thames Riverside guidance, historic building rescue and repair, new buildings, Buildings at Risk, nationally authoritative policy and guidance. Former Head of Conservation and Design, Wandsworth Council, sought after Expert Witness, lecturer and presenter.
Stephen Arnold

Stephen joined CAP in 2014. His British experience embraces historic and contemporary domestic buildings, commercial, ecclesiastical, civic, and leisure projects for international practices over fifty years. He has worked in the USA, Sweden and Israel. Projects include refurbishing government buildings, schools, churches, meeting houses, commercial and leisure projects as well as historic conservation in Washington DC, New England, Old Jaffa and the City of Acre.
Since returning to the UK in 2005, Stephen has designed and collaborated on historic and new build domestic and commercial projects, including houses by renowned architects such as Edwin Lutyens, CFA Voysey and garden designs by Gertrude Jekyll. Stephen is highly skilled at understanding traditional building character and construction, 3-dimensional planning, careful detail and control of works during construction.

Jane is an educator, graduate planner and social scientist. As Jack’s partner she has supported CAP since its foundation. Following a successful and varied career in higher education, central government and international development, Jane collaborates on planning issues, creates and maintains CAP’s records and systems.
